Debating at Goldsmiths University
On Tuesday 18/06, a group of year 8 students went to Goldsmiths University for part 5 of a debating course they have been a attending throughout the year. The session was themed around ‘Fake news and the media’ and students learnt about what the term fake news meant, why fake news is produced and why it is important to recognise it. The year 8s also took part in a group activity with students from other schools to discuss and prepare a presentation on how to recognise fake news. All students represented the school well and are looking forward to the final part of the course which will be at The Houses of Parliament in July.
