The Royal Academy Exhibition
On Tuesday Springwest Academy Year 10 Art and Design students visited the Royal Academy. They saw a variety of artworks to inspire and motivate them as they prepare for the final year of their GCSE course.
Firstly students visited the permanent collection and saw works by the great masters such as Michelangelo, Ruskin and Constable. Students then visited the solo show by contemporary sculptor Phyllida Barlow, before moving on to a guided tour of the 251st Summer Exhibition.
Students were further inspired given that the show included artwork by Springwest’s art teacher Ms Cembrowicz.
Royal Academy Visitor Services complemented our students for their excellent conduct and mature approach to their learning as well as for their level of inquisitiveness during the exhibition.
