Why Did You Choose To Come To Springwest?

I chose to come to Springwest because I live near the school and also lots of my friends from Sparrow Farm were coming. I visited the school on Open Evening and thought it had a nice atmosphere with lots of different opportunities on offer. My family also thought that the curriculum was interesting and would allow me to take subjects I would enjoy for GCSE.

What Would You Say Is Your Favourite Moment In Springwest So Far?

I really enjoyed attending a trip to Royal Holloway in Year 9 and learning about university life. This trip showed me the options I had for the future and allowed me to consider what I need to do to get into university and increased my motivation to go. I also really enjoy the co-curriculars on offer, including poetry club and Girls’ Voice. In Girls’ Voice, we discuss the struggles that women go through in our society and how this impacts everyone.

What Is Your Favourite Subject And Why?

My favourite subjects are History and English. I like learning about the past in History and how it affects the modern day. In English, I like reading and analysing texts and also the teacher promotes discussion and debate. In the future, I’d like to study Law with Politics and both History and English will give me a good foundation for this.

What Advice Would You Give To A Student Who Is About To Start At Springwest?

I would say that students should see what opportunities are available and find some clubs that they are interested in. They should also not be afraid to ask teachers for help if they find lessons difficult. They should try their best in KS3 to make the transition to KS4 easier.
