Maths is...
Mathematics is the study of patterns, structure, space and change. As abstract as that may seem, maths is, at its core, a quest (#SpringQuest) for absolutes, definitive solutions and answers. As a department, we place a high value on developing strategies to boost student interest, while also helping them to discover and form connections within the subject. Our sole responsibility is not just teaching for exams, but teaching to inspire lifelong learning and stimulate the curiosity of our students, regardless of their mathematical ability. Supporting our pupils to gain a solid understanding of the foundations of maths enables them to become confidently numerate for life, ready to succeed in today’s modern and ever-changing world.
