Key Stage 5 Results Success!

A-Level results day is finally here and as usual we are pleased to share the success of our students. Yet again this year we have seen continued strength in many areas. Combining the achievement of our A-Level and Vocational courses 50% of entries were graded A*-B and almost 75% of entries were grades A*-C. Students studying French, Philosophy and English at A-Level and Business & Personal Finance and ICT at BTEC all achieved results significantly above national averages. The average grade achieved by students taking Academic A-Levels has improved from last year to a C+, the average grade for students taking vocational courses is Distinction+.

Students will be celebrating successful applications to many top universities. Incredibly we have seen 6 students offered unconditional places this year including Lukaz Nosal studying Mathematics at the University of Portsmouth and Mominah Naeem studying psychology at the University of Roehampton. An increasing number of students are taking courses that are far more employment oriented, all of whom have been supported by their vocational course in Business & Personal Finance. Madalina Cocis will be studying Accounting and Finance at the University of Southampton and Ellouise Walker (A* in psychology) will be studying Business and Management at Royal Holloway University.

There have been a significant number of changes to A-Levels, most notably the move to linear examinations at the end of two years. However this change is yet to be implemented everywhere and we are delighted to share the incredible achievement of our Year 12 mathematics students. Students have achieved grades far in excess of national averages with 7 out of 15 students achieving A grades. This staggering achievement will likely put us as one of the top providers in the country.
