LGBT+ History Month

Tuesday 1st February marked the start of LGBT+ history month and staff have organised various events to mark this month, such as an assembly, subject specific starter activities within lessons, PSHE lessons and a showcase of books within the library. In our assembly this month, students will reflect on LGBT+ history and struggles faced by the community as well as celebrate the many achievements of individuals from the community and reflect on how far attitudes have changed and improved in the UK. The main and overall aims of the month are to promote equality and diversity and explore the idea of social justice.
All students are welcome to join our Rainbow Youth Group which meets weekly before school. In the group you might take part in group discussions, organise awareness events, lead on equality projects, meet people who you can talk to, make new friends and support others.
