Our First Red Day of the Year – Thursday 18 October . “All About Me”

Our first Red Day takes place on Thursday 18th October.  The theme of the day is “All About Me” and we have organised a variety of workshops for Years 7 to 11 around this theme.

Year 7 are working on their own Health and Hygiene and mental wellbeing as well as discussing road safety and cycle safety in order to keep them safe.  They will also take part in a workshop run by PREVENT where they will discuss the dangers of extremism, online safety and radicalisation.

Year 8 have a range of external visitors in school who will speak to them about drug awareness and the dangers of taking drugs, a talk by a GP on sexual health including effective contraception.  A talk on the issues around sexuality in particular, LGBT+ as well as workshops on their mental wellbeing.

Year 9 are looking at Body Confidence, Positive Healthy Relationships, issues around sexuality, in particular, LGBT+ as well as workshops around positive mental health and wellbeing

Year 10 and 11 students are involved in workshops around revision strategies, setting up revision timetables in preparation for exams, positive mental health and wellbeing as well as a talk from the Police about crime, the law and the effects this has as an adult on the opportunity to work.
