World Book Day

We had a lovely World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March and it was exciting to see so many staff and students in fancy dress, including the English department as the characters of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, the Science department as Harry Potter characters and the MFL department as characters from Coco. We also enjoyed reading and discussing Langston Hughes’ Thank You Ma’am at the start of every period. In addition, students worked together in Prep to identify which teachers were behind books that had inspired them in ‘The Masked Reader’. We hope that students enjoyed spending their book tokens on a new book.  

At Springwest we love reading and encourage students to read frequently and widely. We are constantly adding new books to our beautiful new library; recent new sections include Wellbeing, Feminist Revolution and The Natural World.
