What Set You On The Path To Teaching?

I had a wonderful A-level History teacher who passed on her joy and passion for teaching, and the subject. After I completed my History degree, I knew I wanted to pass on my love for the subject to others.

What Was It That Attracted You To Working At Springwest Academy?

I was placed here through TeachFirst, trained at Springwest for two years. I then decided to stay here as I love working with the staff and students here. I was offered an excellent leadership opportunity which has allowed me to continually develop my practice.

What do you like most about teaching History?

History is like a huge puzzle, you’ve got to fit the pieces together to understand the world today and how it came to be as it is. I think that History applies to everyone and can help everyone to piece together the world around them. There are also so many completely crazy and fascinating stories to tell!
