About us 

Springwest Academy is a vibrant, mixed comprehensive school serving the local community of Feltham. We are an inclusive school that has developed a culture of kindness where staff and students flourish. Students with SEND are well supported by specialist teachers within mainstream lessons and by various interventions 

based on need. We have two Local Authority resourced Centres which provide for students with physical disabilities and Autism. 

The role 

We have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant to support the numeracy fundamentals at Springwest Academy, Feltham, West London.  You will support students through a bespoke programme of interventions as well as in class as required. You will work with the students in a variety of ways, supporting them in mainstream classrooms, in withdrawal situations and during unstructured time – breaks and lunchtimes. The successful candidate will need to be flexible and able to adapt to work with students with a range of special educational needs throughout the school.

An understanding of the range of special educational needs that face young people is essential.  Experience of working with young people with additional needs is desirable and a willingness to undertake specific training will be required including manual handling.

Hours: 35 hours a week, 38.2 weeks a year (full time, term time only) 

Salary: NJC Scale 5 Outer London FTE  £31,074 - £32,931

Actual pro rata for term time only: £25,677 - £27,212

Contract: Full time, permanent
