What Set You On The Path To Teaching?

My deep passion for helping others and my unwavering belief in the power of education to shape future generations set me on the path to teaching. I’ve always been drawn to the idea of making a lasting difference in peoples’ lives, and teaching offers a unique opportunity to do just that. There is something incredibly powerful about being able to guide and inspire young minds—not just to absorb knowledge, but to grow into compassionate, thoughtful, and responsible individuals. Helping students discover their potential and watching them evolve into better humans, equipped to contribute positively to society, is what fuels my commitment to this profession. For me, teaching is more than a career; it's a calling rooted in service, purpose, and the hope for a better world.

What Was It That Attracted You To Working At Springwest Academy?

What attracted me to working at Springwest was the unmistakable culture of kindness that permeates every aspect of the school. It’s clear that this is a place where compassion, respect, and integrity are not just encouraged—they are lived, daily, by both staff and students. I was drawn to the school’s commitment to its journey toward greatness, not by cutting corners, but by upholding strong core values and virtues that guide every step. Springwest’s focus on developing not only academic success but also the character of its pupils deeply aligns with my own philosophy and beliefs. Being part of a community that intentionally instils these values in its staff and students creates a meaningful and inspiring environment—one that I am eager to contribute to and grow within.

What do you like most about teaching your subject?

What I like most about teaching Maths is the opportunity to open students’ eyes to the beauty and relevance of the subject in everyday life. Maths is so much more than numbers and equations—it's a powerful tool for understanding how the world around us works. From nature and architecture to finance and technology, Maths plays a role in nearly every aspect of life. I love helping young people develop a passion and curiosity for Mathematics, guiding them to see patterns, solve problems, and approach the world in new and interesting ways. Watching students gain confidence in their abilities and begin to appreciate the subject for its logic, creativity, and usefulness is incredibly rewarding.
