When did you join Springwest and why did you choose our school? 

I joined Springwest just after the start of Year 8 and felt I was immediately welcomed. Very quickly, I was able to fit into the new systems efficiently and became familiar and confident with the new environment. It shocked me how fast it felt that I was part of a truly thriving community. It was an easy decision for me to choose Springwest specifically due to its strong and large history as a known and trusted school in the local area and its exceptional facilities. 

What motivated you to apply to be a student leader at Springwest? 

I felt motivated by the opportunity to give back to the school that helped me feel more confident both academically and socially. To have the change to represent all the friends, teachers and others who contribute to the community here at Springwest. Seeing that I could make a genuine difference to the people around me and act as a role model sparked my determination to create a positive impact as a student leader.

What would you like to achieve in your role as Head Boy? 

My main intention as Head Boy is to ensure every individual has the opportunity to voice their ideas and desires for the future of Springwest. I intend to act as a pathway for students to have their ideas listened to and where they can come to fruition. In addition, I plan to prove that regardless of being a student or a member of staff, everyone in Springwest has the capability to make a difference. By the end of Year 11, my personal goal is to leave Springwest being confident that I gave it all my effort, commitment and generosity I could. 

What Is Your Favourite Thing About Springwest?

For me my favourite thing about Springwest is the effort to provide equal opportunities for all pupils regardless of who they are or how they may perform. Everybody has the opportunity to achieve success and the fundamental foundations of learning to flourish. There is an impressive selection of subjects available, leadership opportunities, charity events and an emphasis on Sports. I myself have taken part in Badminton Club, Student Council and have represented my school as a Sports Leader.

What Advice Would You Give to other students about how to succeed? 

My biggest piece of advice would be to never shy away from an opportunity because Springwest does an incredible job at providing everything a student could ask for in terms of opportunity, assistance and choice and does an even better job at encouraging students to utilise it. So ultimately, it does not matter if you are a Year 7 or a Year 11, do not hesitate to try something new and do not hesistate to do your best at it.
