Head Boy
2024 to 2025
When did you join Springwest and why did you choose our school?
I relocated from India and joined Springwest in June 2022, towards the end of Year 7.
Having read positive online reviews about Springwest and heard others speaking highly of it, it was the obvious choice for me. During my tour of the school, I noticed a genuinely kind culture, and it was clear that students were thriving.
What motivated you to apply to be a student leader at Springwest?
I found that the kindness shown to me by other students when I first arrived helped me to settle quickly into Springwest. Every student is treated equally, which inspired me to want to help others by giving advice and communicating with the teachers on their behalf. I joined the Student Council at the start of Year 10 and this year we have successfully organised for a new computer to be put into the canteen for students to check their Parent Pay balance, the introduction of a summer uniform and for a stationery shop to be open to students. Seeing the positive impact of these changes motivated me to continue serving others in a leadership role.
What would you like to achieve in your role as Head Boy?
I would like to ensure that all students feel respected and valued by actively supporting our school’s culture of kindness. In addition, I aim to expand the amount of opportunities available by organising more sports events and speaking with teachers about adding more co-curricular clubs at lunchtimes. Finally, I would also like to promote the school within the community and showcase all the great things we are doing at Springwest.
What Extra-curricular Activities Have You Taken Part In?
Badminton Club
Chess Club
PE Prep
Music Club
Student Council
What Is Your Favourite Thing About Springwest?
All teachers are supportive and always happy to help us. We have a kind culture where all students are treated with respect. There is also a wide range of subjects available and I love all the co-curricular activities, including the sports clubs.
What Advice Would You Give to other students about how to succeed?
Our students succeed because Mr Hart has put learning at the centre of everything we do. Students should follow our school values by being kind, supportive and helpful towards others. There are so many opportunities at Springwest so I would recommend participating in as many events, clubs, trips and sports as possible.
