Head Girl

2024 to 2025

When did you join Springwest and why did you choose our school?

I started here at Springwest in Year 7. My sister came here and she had a good experience so my parents wanted me to attend too. My sister told me about all of the opportunities she had and was really positive about all of the teachers and pastoral staff at Springwest.

What motivated you to apply to be a student leader at Springwest?

My sister was Head Girl at Springwest and told me the different things she had been involved in. It was a great experience for her and she inspired me to apply too.  I've always been passionate about helping other people and supporting them to be the best version of themselves. I also want to help students through their problems as well. There is so much on offer at Springwest, I want to encourage students to make the most of their time here.

What would you like to achieve in your role as Head Girl?

I would like to make as many positive changes as I can and help to relay to staff what the students want as well.  As part of the Student Council this year, it was exciting to see staff listening to our ideas and creating changes. We campaigned to allow students to be able to wear shorts in the summer; we took this to the senior leadership team and they agreed.

What Extra-curricular Activities Have You Taken Part In?

I love all the co-curricular activities that Springwest has to offer and I have been part of the Anti-Bullying Ambassadors, Student Council, Springwest Blooms, Weights Room, Girls’ Voice, Scholars and Orbits.

What Is Your Favourite Thing About Springwest?

The fact that the teachers are so kind and willing to listen to students and encourage them to make changes to support them.  They treat us all equally and provide a really positive and kind environment.

What Advice Would You Give to other students about how to succeed?

If you're passionate about something, always push yourself even if you don’t feel confident.
